Pot Roast Meatloaf

1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 C. dry bread crumbs
1 large egg
2 T. worcestershire sauce
1/4 C. catsup (that's how they spelled it)
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. black pepper
2 medium carrots, sliced
1 large onion, sliced
3 medium potatoes, sliced 1/4" thick
1 1/2 C. chopped cabbage
pepper, for sprinkling over the vegetables

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, worcestershire sauce, catsup, salt and pepper. Shape mixture into a loaf in the center of a 13 x 9 x 2" pan. Place the vegetables in layers around the meat. Top the vegetables with some black pepper.

Cover the casserole tightly with tinfoil. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 1 hour. Remove tinfoil and bake an additional 10 minutes to brown the meat.
